India welcomed two new gamers making their International ODI debut as the three-match ODI sequence kickstarted on Sunday. Coach Rahul Dravid welcomed Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav to the comparatively inexperienced squad whereas India’s main gamers are engaged in a Test sequence in England.

Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka received the toss and elected to bat first in the sequence opener at R. Premadasa Stadium. Both groups are fielding comparatively inexperienced groups. Sri Lanka’s selectors opted for a youth coverage with the senior gamers constantly failing to win matches and in addition concerned in a pay dispute with the cricket board.
