Asserting that the present should go on regardless of the pandemic scenario, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday mentioned famous person Shah Rukh Khan will grace the digital inauguration of the 26th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) on January 8.
The seven-day festival will begin by paying tribute to two greats – auteur Satyajit Ray on his beginning centenary, and iconic Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who died of post-COVID problems in November final 12 months.

Satyajit Ray’s basic Apur Sansar, which was Soumitra Chatterjee’s debut film, will be screened on the inauguration.
A complete of 131 movies — in function, quick and documentary codecs — will be screened at choose state-run theatres of town, together with Nandan and Rabindra Sadan.
Superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan together with different massive names of Bollywood have been friends on the inaugural ceremony for the previous few years.
