Serena Williams to return to action in Kentucky next month

Serena Williams is planning to make her return to competitors at a brand new hard-court match in Kentucky next month.

It’ll be the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion’s first action since enjoying for the U.S. in the Fed Cup in February, earlier than all sanctioned tennis was shut down the next month due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The ladies’s and males’s skilled tennis excursions are scheduled to resume in August.

The Kentucky occasion, known as the Top Seed Open, introduced Thursday that Williams and 2017 U.S. Open champion Sloane Stephens will probably be in the sphere when play begins there August 10.

Williams already has mentioned she’s going to enter the next scheduled Grand Slam match, the U.S. Open, which is meant to start in New York on August 31.
