SAG Awards to be held on April 4

The 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) will now be held on April 4 to keep away from a conflict with the Grammy Awards.

The transfer comes every week after the Recording Academy and CBS determined to transfer their Grammy ceremony to March 14, a date SAG had already marked.

According to Variety, the SAG Awards will be broadcast on TNT and TBS, and can recognise the excellent movie and TV performances of the 12 months passed by.

Several award reveals, together with the Oscars and Golden Globes telecasts, have been delayed within the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

This will not be the primary time the Grammys and SAG Awards have been a scheduling battle. In the 2020 awards season, the 26th Annual SAG Awards, initially scheduled for January 26, was moved up every week to January 19, when the Grammy Awards had been introduced for a similar date.

As the SAG Awards was moved to a March date, the present prolonged this 12 months’s eligibility interval by two months, together with works exhibited or broadcast between January 1, 2020, and February 28, 2021.

Nominations for the upcoming ceremony will be introduced on February 4.

The SAG Awards are honours given by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) to recognise excellent performances in movie and prime time tv
