Ramesh Pokhriyal inaugurates centre for happiness at IIM-Jammu


Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank inaugurated the centre for happiness within the Indian Institute of Management (IIM-Jammu) on March 30. At the digital inauguration, Nishank talked about that the newly launched ‘Anandam’ is developed following the precept of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) that goals to rework the nation’s schooling system by 2021.

According to the minister, the brand new centre will assist in decreasing the psychological strain of scholars and school working within the institute as they must endure stress on account of deadlines, coursework, teaching-load, {and professional} and private life strain. “The center will help people overcome mental stress and help spread positivity and it will encourage and propagate holistic development for all the stakeholders at IIM Jammu,” the minister said.

The institute’s centre for happiness, Anandam can be divided into 5 broad classes — counselling, holistic wellness, elective programs on happiness growth, analysis and management, school growth. The institute will convey holistic well-being, common bodily workouts will contribute to the wellness at the bodily degree for each the scholars and the college, the minister mentioned.

The digital event was attended by Lieutenant Governor, Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Founder, Art of Living Foundation, Ravi Shankar, Milind Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors and BS Sahay, Director IIM Jammu.
