Two college students’ unions of Presidency University have opposed the decision of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) not to conduct admission assessments for undergraduate and postgraduate programs on the institute from this yr, officers stated.
The joint entrance examinations board has been conducting the admission assessments for Presidency University’s UG and PG programs and that for night five-year engineering programs at Jadavpur University. The board had lately introduced that it could not hold such assessments for particular person institutes from this yr.

“We condemn the interference of the state government in the decision-making process regarding the entrance examinations of Presidency University,” the institute’s college students council, managed by SFI, stated in a press release.
“We call for strong protests against the violation of the autonomy of Presidency University and the cessation of entrance examinations,” SFI chief within the varsity Debnil Paul stated.
The announcement of the joint entrance examinations board got here after the federal government directed the state universities in a digital assembly to admit college students for undergraduate programs solely on the premise of sophistication 12 board marks.
