While small accommodations have registered 80 per cent occupancy throughout Christmas and New Year time, 4 and five-star institutions are absolutely occupied, Shah stated.
In a bid to draw friends, accommodations have slashed their room charges by 20 to 30 per cent, in comparison with the corresponding interval within the 12 months 2019, he stated.

Shah stated there shall be no overseas tourists this time because the chartered flight season, which begins mid-October and ends in March, is but to take off.
On a mean, 5 lakh overseas tourists arrive by chartered and scheduled worldwide flights within the state, he stated.
“There have been times when the state has received more than 1,000 chartered flights,” Shah recalled.
Meanwhile, state director of tourism Menino D’Souza stated Goa obtained response from tourists throughout Christmas and issues are more likely to get higher for New Year.
The division has been offering all essential help to hoteliers to make sure that they obtain most variety of tourists, the official stated.
As seashores drew crowds throughout Christmas, seashore shack homeowners at the moment are again in enterprise at Baga, Calangute, Sinquerim, Morjim (North Goa), Colva, Sernabhatim, Benaulim, Palolem, Patnem, Rajbag and others in South Goa.
“Shack owners are trying their luck as there is crowd on the beaches. We have lost majority of the season, but we will try to compensate for the loss during the New Year festivities,” stated Manuel Cardoso president of Traditional Shack Owners Association.
