British star Emma Thompson has boarded the cast of the display screen adaptation of Matilda.
Based on the widespread musical stage play model of Roald Dahl’s basic story, the film is a Netflix and Working Title challenge.
Thompson will play Miss Trunchbull, the merciless headmistress and antagonist of the piece, reported Entertainment Weekly.
The story follows the titular five-year-old woman, who makes use of her powers of telekinesis to beat bullies, together with her household and her college’s principal Miss Trunchbull, and defend her pals.
Child star Alisha Weir will essay the position of Matilda in the film, which may also characteristic Captain Marvel actor Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey, the kindly instructor who encourages Matilda and her telekinetic presents.
Matthew Warchus, who directed the authentic play, will return to helm the characteristic adaptation.
Tony winner Dennis Kelly can also be coming again to pen the screenplay.
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title will produce the challenge with Jon Finn, and Luke Kelly of The Roald Dahl Story Company and Netflix.
